Lovable + moodspec

Point Lovable at your canvas so generated apps arrive already on-brand.

  1. Open project settingsIn your Lovable project, go to Settings → Integrations → MCP.
  2. Add a custom serverPaste your moodspec URL and bearer token.
  3. Enable for the projectToggle moodspec on. It applies to every chat in that project.
  4. Prompt with intentReference "our canvas" and Lovable will pull fonts, palette and ICP notes.

Confirm it is connected

In Lovable
Settings → Integrations → MCP → moodspec

The server shows as connected with its tools listed. Lovable checks the endpoint when you save, so a bad URL or token fails at that moment rather than mid-build.

When it does not work

Saving the server fails straight away

The URL is missing the canvas path. The endpoint is per canvas — the host on its own is not a valid server. Copy the whole URL from Connect agent, including /c/ and the canvas slug.

The server is on, but screens still look like the default template

Lovable applied the canvas to new work and left existing components alone. Ask for the retrofit explicitly — "restyle the existing pages to the moodspec canvas" — rather than expecting it to happen on its own.

It works in one project and not another

MCP servers are enabled per project in Lovable, not per account. Add and enable the server in each project that should come out on-brand.

Colours come through but the fonts do not

The canvas has the families and the project has no way to load them. get_typography returns the CSS or @font-face to use. Ask for it by name and have Lovable wire up the font loading, not just the family names.

Questions

Which plan do I need?

Pro, for the MCP endpoint. The free tier keeps one canvas in the browser with no account and no endpoint.

Will it rewrite work I already have?

Not on its own. The canvas is read when a request touches UI, copy or brand, and existing components stay as they are until you ask for them to change.

What is the best first prompt?

Name the canvas in the same sentence as the thing you want built: "build the marketing site using the moodspec canvas for type, colour and tone". The first draft comes back in your fonts instead of the default look.

Can Lovable edit the canvas?

No. Writes go through propose_change, which is a Business scope and lands in an approval queue either way.

Where does the token live?

In the MCP server settings, not in the generated code. Nothing in the build output carries it.
